For the Improvement of Self-Integration of the Elderly Verification of Effectiveness of Group Art Therapy Program for Making Autobiography

Abstract
This purpose of this study was to verify the effect of the autobiography-making group art therapy program on the improvement of self-integration in the elderly.
The study subjects were divided into an experimental group and a control group, and 16 elderly people who met the criteria of this study were conducted at a senior welfare center located in A city. Three times a week, a total of 13 times for 100 minutes, it was conducted on the experimental group excluding pre- and post-tests, and quantitative and qualitative analyzes were conducted to verify the effect. Through Friedman's verification, recording, and observation of the sub-factors of the two groups using the SPSS WIN 23.0 program, changes in self-integration by session were analyzed centering on the sub-factors of self-integration. The results of the study are as follows. First, the autobiography making group art therapy program worked effectively to improve the self-integration of the elderly. Second, the autobiography group art therapy program showed effective changes in improving the self-integration of the elderly by session. In conclusion, this study verified the effectiveness of the autobiography making group art therapy program, proving that it is a way to help lead a healthy life by improving self-integration, which is the most important factor of the elderly at the present time moving toward an aging society.
